Art Paws event goes Virtual
It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness, that Artie and I must announce the decision to postpone 20th Annual Art Paws live event until July 18th 2021. The board of directors felt it was in the best interest of the health and well-being of our volunteers, exhibitors and attendees due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic and the safety holding of large events. We understand that this is a great disappointment to both the exhibitors and attendees and are deeply sorry this announcement was necessary. All sponsorships and vendors will be carried over to the 2021 live event and will promoted on our website for the following year. Additionally, our 2020 Underdog Grant winner (WYLIE) and Arties Art Grant recipient (Arts for All Nevada) will be carried over to the 2021 event.
We are however, also excited to announce, that we WILL be holding a virtual Art Paws event on Sunday July 19th 2021. We are currently working on exactly how the virtual event will look by consulting with a local production company and considering several options. I am reaching out to all of you for your input on what you would like to see in a virtual Art Paws event, all suggestions are welcome. We are currently considering a 2-4 hour long live web broadcast event. The virtual event may include; a musical concert, K9 contests, sponsor demonstrations, telethon, silent auction, raffle prizes and sponsor advertisements. We have yet to determine if this will be a free or buy-in event. We will be advertising the virtual event similarly to the live event and are hoping for additional media coverage.
Depending on the success of the virtual Art Paws event, we will still plan to distribute funds to our Underdog Grant, Art Grant and the Biggest Little Dog Park. We will not be holding the People’s Choice Award during for the 2020 virtual event.
