Youth Preparedness Coordinator

The American Red Cross in Northern Nevada provides disaster preparedness education to kids and adults through programs called the Pillowcase Project and Prepare With Pedro. In order for these lifesaving programs to be effective, we need help coordinating and managing them. The Youth Preparedness Coordinator works directly with team members in these youth programs to engage current volunteers, train new team members for youth programs, work with community partners to schedule presentations and events, and other tasks. The time commitment to help would be about 10 hours per month, and probably less than that.

The American Red Cross in Northern Nevada works closely with the VA's Voluntary Service program which has over 75,000 volunteers nationwide who have contributed more than 12 million hours of service. In order to be an exceptional part of this program, the Red Cross in Northern Nevada needs a leadership volunteer to act as a liaison and support coordination between the Red Cross and local VA health care facilities. This is a critical need right now. The time commitment to help would be about 10 hours per month. You would attend quarterly VA meetings and volunteer at our local VA facility according to your availability.
