Ways to help	Board Member We are always on the lookout for motivated community members to become a part of our Board of Directors. The Board consists of individuals from many different backgrounds and experiences, which helps us move towards our goal of supporting and maintaining Austin’s House and its vision. Monthly 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor Skilled Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Volunteer Services Like any home, Austin’s House needs maintenance of our lawn, backyard, and house. If you or your organization would like to donate muscle power for maintenance services, please call and speak with us. Occasional Adults, Child with Adult Individuals, Groups (2-10), Corporate Teams, Families Indoor, Outdoor On-site, Skilled Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Fundraising Volunteer Youth groups, churches, business and service organizations, or individuals can host events and donate the proceeds to Austin’s House. Some examples of past events include: bake sales, car washes, ice cream socials, sidewalk business events, raffles, garage sales, fashion show, craft fairs, poker run, and children’s birthday parties. How you help	Austin's House was built and furnished entirely with private donations of cash, materials and labor. The assistance of volunteers in creating Austin’s House is truly an example of what a united community can accomplish and we need support to continue our mission.

About us	Austin's House is a 10 bed emergency shelter for children ages 0-18 who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. We are the only emergency children's shelter in rural northern Nevada, so we know that when children come to us, they quite literally have no place else to go. Our specially trained staff provides help, comfort, care and support. While kids are living at Austin’s House, we ensure that they attend their regular school and any activities that they participated in before being placed with us. Through the generosity of our donors, children at the shelter may also attend field trips to performances, the zoo, museums and cultural events.
