Did you ever wish you could help our Veterans but could not get to the VA because of time, miles or family obligations????
We have the perfect solution for you !!! The VA Voluntary Services is implementing a pilot program to make telephone calls and check on our Hero’s.
Please consider this opportunity and let Anne
Parker, our National VAVS Representative know of your interest, by email: [email protected]
Studies have shown that Veterans who have no one to check on them are more likely to be seen often in the Emergency Room and could suffer from mental health issues because they are lonely.
Will you Volunteer to Help!!!

Food Needed for

Friends in the Desert
43 Pacific Ave, Henderson, NV 89015

This June we will be handling our operation the same as we have been the last few months . We are asking that the food be dropped off between 4:00 and 4:15 so that we can start boxing up by 4:30. We have to keep our number down inside and this only allows two people from each group to stay (if they would like to )and help us box the food up. We understand that your jobs are essential and your health is very important to us . Therefor we are prepared to box the food up and serve it ourselves as well. Thank you very much for all you do for us . We can’t wait to have everyone back inside to help feed those less fortunate in the downtown Henderson area . We are very grateful for all of you and all that you provide for our guests that are in need of Friends In The Desert.
We are in need of extra cases of bottles of water during this time and small bottles of sunblock. Thank you 😊

Help us make sure MWs are aware of our services!
  • Think of ways to reach out to Medical Workers in your area
    • Compile lists of hospitals/urgent cares/etc. In your area
      • If you can, find the phone numbers for HR
  • Once relationships are established with medical locations, think of ways to advertise within these places to help spread the word more
    • This part is essential to actually getting medical worker requests, relationships may be established, but it doesn’t always lead to medical workers knowing about CCC!
  • Be creative! It is crucial to have a wide reach, but consider your target audience.
    • Utilize any personal connections to the medical community (Feel free to reach out to anyone’s parents/family members you know who might be doctors, even to just tell them about the program), contact schools to include in their newsletters, etc.
